The Military Diet- Revisited
Many moons ago I was feeling like a beach whale (about the same as now I have to say!!) and tried this fad called The Military diet.
Yes it worked; I did loose a little weight at the time; but I didn't follow it fully and cheated a little :)
Seeing as my last airoplane ride had me embarrased that the belt didn't go all the way over, I decided it was time to get back to it and loose some weight before I fly to London in the next few days.
I noticed this Military diet was a good kick start at the time, so I figured I would give it another go; without cheating this time and give you a comparison.
So;
Day 1:
Breakfast:
1 orange (grapefruit was on the list but can I find one when I want? Nope!! The subs list said oranges were OK too)
1 slice of toast (no butter)
1 tsp peanut butter
Cinnamon and honey toddy (recipe to follow)
Lunch:
1 slice of toast (or plain bread like I had)
1 cup tuna
Coffee (no milk)
Dinner:
2 slices of meat (I had turkey)
1/2 cup green beans (or another green veg; as you can see I chose brussels sprouts. Flashbacks to xmas anyone??!!)
1/2 banana
1 small apple
1 cup ice cream (or a yogurt; wasn't feeling ice cream; too cold the other day!!!)
Day 1 was fairly easy; probably because I've done this before and knew what to expect. And funnily enough I even enjoyed them brussell sprouts!!
Did I cheat? A little. Can not stand my coffee without sweetner or milk so strike one there.
Also turned the tuna and bread into a half sandwhich with some salad cream in; dry bread and tuna get stuck in my throat!!
My cinnamon and honey toddy is also awesome. I don't know the science behins it, but somehow, some way it shrinks my pop belly!!
Here's how you make it:
Mix 1 tsp of honey and 1/2 tsp cinnamon into hot water and drink it before you go to bed, then another when you wake and beofre you eat breakfast. Anything that can help is always appreciated, right?!!!
Day 2:
Breakfast:
1 slice of toast
1 egg (should be boiled/poached or scrambled without fat. Mine was "fried" in the microwave for 2mins.)
1/2 banana
Lunch:
5 saltine cracker (or 2 rice cakes)
1 egg
1 cup cottage cheese (or 2 slices cheddar cheese)
Dinner:
2 hot dogs (no buns)
1 cup broccoli (or a green veg; like me with the peas :)
1/2 cup carrots
1/2 banana (forgot it in the pic but it was there!!)
1 cup vanilla ice cream
Another fairly simple day; I'm not feeling deprived of anything and sticking to this had been not that bad.
Npoo cheats today; unless we want to talk about the barbeque sauce on my hot dogs!!
Day 3:
Breakfast:
5 saltione cracker (or 1 slice toast)
1 slice cheddar
1 small apple
Lunch:
1 slice of toast
1 egg (or yogurt; these were sooooo good!!)
Dinner:
1 cup tuna
1/2 banna
1 cup vanilla ice cream
It got weird today eh?!! How could I not have a little butter on all that bread??!! The plus side to this is that there;s a lot of fruit and veg; which is good because I've been neglecting that these few months.
Did I loose anything though?
YES!!! 5.5lbs
So while it's not a long term solutions, it can help kick start the good eating and get me back on track.
There's going to be a few weeks of eating not-so-good things but if I try and make a few better choices I think I can keep off those pounds I worked hard to loose.
Anyways lovelys this post has took me a few hours back and forth and hads got loooong, so I'm gonna leave this with you and hope it helps you all. Hope to see you all back soon.
