Home made crayons

So, among other musings and things, my niece and I did some colouring int; thanks to my printer. I love that it's a simple and cheap way to amuse the kids; just a few printed pages of thier choosing yelds hours of peace and quiet!

My niece also wanted to do something with her crayons, and seeing as I've been itching to try this for a while (we all know how much of a bit kid I am!!) I agreed to give it a go!

Cute right?!

So, here's how you do them; they're so easy and really fun! Just for FY!'s; make sure you clean your mould really well before and after, just in case!

So, take your mould; I figured the silicone ones would be best. Stick the oven on as low as possible; mine goes as low as 100. Put them on a tray.

Let them melt; my niece and I would take turns every five minutes to check on them, but in actual reality they took about 30 minutes.

Here ours are just out of the oven! Let them cool right down; we left them a good half an hour as well.

Popped right out of the mould and they look great!!! My niece was so happy with them!

Now, wouldn't they look great in different moulds? I see a little experimenting in my future! And what great gifts for the kids?!!! Looks like I've figured out what to make for Christmas this year!!! I know, I know; it's only February but best to make a start now!!!
